I’m not ready to come back yet, but I thought I’d give you all a heads up that the Twist Collective and Cleite goes live today. Go check out the debut issue and don’t forget to check the marketplace for an ad and a discount code for my store.
Thanks are due to Kate, Irene and Julia for making the Twist Collective concept real as well as Jessica for knitting the Cleite sample and Cynthia for designing a stellar ad.

p.s. I’m also set to teach at a retreat in San Diego if you are interested. The dates are September 18-21. Register early if you want to go, as space is limited.

Posted 05 Aug 2008 at 8:32 AM ¶Oh WOW. It makes me want to learn to knit lace.
Posted 07 Aug 2008 at 11:50 AM ¶Loved the shawl! Bought the pattern already through Twist Collective. What a great idea for that online magazine. Well laid and lovely patterns and photos throughout. I confess I bought 6 patterns – more than a magazine subscription’s worth! hope your lifestyle changes are coming along well.
Posted 08 Aug 2008 at 1:03 PM ¶I wonder if you can be bothered answering an Icarus question for me. I am just about to start Chart 3 and I am considering whether or not to do the purl stitches (on the front, plain on the back). I have looked very thoroughly at a lot of the Icaruses on Ravelry and it seems that it works all right without them: I like the way they make the separation between the feathers more precise and I will keep those, but I don’t think it is essential to continue them down the top of the next feather, and use them on all of the last chart. However, I am old and I hope wise enough that I don’t assume to know better than the designer and I hesitate to ditch them in case I get to the end and suddenly say, ‘Oh, that’s why she did it!’ while tearing my hair out.

I hope you’re benefitting from your blogging break. Best wishes, Helen
It was SO great to see you, hon!!
