This playful cowl is a joy to knit and so easy to wear. It would be great folded down to make a double layer of picots, or effortlessly slouched. Knit this cowl in a soft yarn for maximum snuggle, while the garter stitch borders make a great canvas for playing with color combinations.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 38 rounds per 4 inch (10cm) square in stockinette stitch after blocking
Finished Measurements: 17 inches (43cm) circumference at top, 27 inches (68.5cm) circumference at bottom, 10.5 inches (26.5cm) tall
Yarn Requirements: 45 yards in Color 1 and 165 yards in Color 2 of fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in Bijou Basin Ranch Bijou Spun Fingering Weight in ‘Sky’ and ‘Steel’
Needle Size: 3.25mm (US 3) 24-inch & 16-inch circular needles for knitting in the round or size needed to obtain gauge
Pattern Includes: written directions
Stitches Used: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, m1L, m1R
Other Details: This cowl is worked in the round, from the larger bottom edge to the top, bind off edge. The stacked increases and decreases create the chevron shaped fabric.
