These gloves, inspired by Lauren Bacall, have a series of chevron pleats, that give the gloves the refined, sophisticated city-dweller feel that so many of Lauren’s characters exuded. The wrist slit, when unbottoned, allows the gloves to slide easily over the hand, but when buttoned, shows off slim wrists.
Gauge: 26 sts and 40 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) square in stockinette knit flat and in the round after blocking.
Finished Measurements: To fit 7[8] inches (17.8[20.3] cm) hand circumference with 0 to .5 inches of negative ease.
Yarn Requirements: 288[330] yards of heavy fingering to sport weight yarn. Sample in Spirit Trail Fiberworks Sunna in ‘Deep Ocean’
Needle Size: 2.75 mm (US 2) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

Stitches Used: knit, purl, k2tog, Centered Double Decrease, k2tog, ssk, m1, knit front & back, slip with yarn in front and with yarn in back, purl front & back, sl2 p2togtbl.
